Yeah!Sabri said "This is such a candid record for us, we decided to lend more crazy idea for our first ep album. I dealt with some very difficult tests when we are working on this. Pop Shuvit is a Malaysian independent rap-rock band. Comprising Moots! (vocals), JD (guitar), AJ (bass), Rudy (drums) and Uno (turntables), the band who got its name from a skateboarding trick of almost the same name began making waves in the local music scene in late 2001 and since then, has had 4 successful releases under their belt and gained a sizable fanbase in Asia notably in Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Singapore. Known for their adrenaline-packed live shows and eclectic blend of hip hop and rock, Pop Shuvit are being touted as Asia’s leading Hip Hop Rock band.heir debut album Take it & Shuvit broke new ground when their first single Skaters’ Anthem was released exclusively on the Internet and became one of the most downloaded local songs in Malaysian music history. The hype and street buzz from the track caught the ears of ESPN, who in turn licensed the track for use in their Summer X-Games broadcast that hit millions of households worldwide. As further credit to Pop Shuvit, ESPN played their music videos and tracks off the album throughout the duration of competition. In 2003, Pop Shuvit released Take it & Shuvit in Japan and became the first Malaysian band to hit the music chart in Japan. The overwhelming support from Japanese youth market ensured that all tracks of the album charted the top 20 on the Tower Records sales charts (even beating raprock luminaries like Linkin Park) without any promotion to back the album.
Vibrant, passionate, energetic and adventurous! Those are just some of the words that can be used to describe local fusion rock outfit Wanted Symphony - Since breaking onto the scene in October last year, the band has been on an exciting musical journey and has never looked back. Uniting four young and talented musicians, the band brings together a variety of influences and a whole lot of fun. Wanted Symphony definitely is a promise of something fresh - Together, they dabble in a genre they like to call ‘experimental fusion rock’. The band writes, arranges and produces their own music – uniquely characterized by a creative mixture of sounds, solid musical composition and strong lyrics. In the process, they have had the privilege of churning out crowd favourites such as ‘Breathless’, ‘Midnight Chatter’, and most recently ‘A Place Called Home’. The band performs live regularly and has rocked the house down on numerous occasions with their electrifying performances. Having already chalked up countless shows and feature performances nationwide, Wanted Symphony was recently blessed with a TV appearance as finalists on a reality show sponsored by Coca-Cola. Aside from that, they were also interviewed and featured in local newspapers Kosmo! and the News Straits Times. Despite having fun on stage and enjoying what they do, more importantly Wanted Symphony aims to touch and impact people with their music. As lead singer Daniel Wong puts it, “Our aim is not just to make music that people can remember and enjoy, but above everything we seek to speak into the hearts and lives of our listeners with our songs and the words that we sing, in the hope that people will go home carrying a positive message to their family and friends.” With the release of their much awaited debut single ‘You Will Be Mine’, Wanted Symphony now sets their sights on scaling greater heights. The band is just getting warmed up – there is much more to come so make sure you watch this space!
Fragments & Frictions or FnF for short was founded by Sherwin Singh (bass/vocals) in early 2010. Sherwin got the band name by mistake while listening to Angels & Airwaves's Fragments & Fictions. He didn't notice that the word was Fictions and not Frictions. Sherwin thought it was cool and went on to name the band Fragments & Frictions. After the band name was settled, Sherwin happened to see his good friend Andrew Kornnish perform at a battle of the bands event with Andrew's band Stalking Shannon. Sherwin instantly set his sights on roping Andrew in for his new band. Andrew agreed to join the band and soon after Brendon Khoo filled the position of drums. After 2 months of composing and rehearsals, Fragments & Frictions has already a number of original songs under their belts and have played in various events and places, notably FEYST Concert and An Honest Mistake's Debut Album Showcase . Their biggest achievement so far was bagging third place in DiGi's talent competition DiGiLive Tour on August 8 2010.
Subang Jaya native, 20-year-old, Afiq, started out the band as a side project with the help of a few local youngsters a few years back. Claiming that their main sound is hard rock, they cite Trivium, Slipknot, Muse, and Arch Enemy as their main band influences. The name means “ to entertain loudly”. The band’s sole mission in life is to continuously make music that will constantly inspire people to play music. After a few member turnovers, they are now a 3-piece band.Back in 2007, lead singer Afiq was working on a new side project band, and he called Asrul(bass),Daniel(drums) and Ryan(guitar) and together they formed a band. They called themselves,RevuForte. They recorded their first single titled 'Greed’. After recording their first single, Afiq and Daniel had continuous creative differences and soon after, Daniel left the band. They found new drummer named Adrie.Things were starting to turn around when Ryan decided to quit for personal reasons and Asrul has since been removed by the band for Afiq and Asrul had had different ideas about their own music ideology .Now, Afiq has found Bulya as their new bassist and together, they are planning to record more songs in the future.
We are six passionate musicians, with a great desire to influence and to inspire the world through our blend of metal / hardcore / death metal music.Formed in 2007, after a few rounds of slight line-up changes, Unexpected Mercy are finally set with a permanent line-up.The band started off with Ian and his sister; Vivian together with Russel to form a band that plays hardcore music thanks to the many musical influences by the bands that they started to listen to that plays hardcore music. A few months later Daniel joined themand together they have a couple of jamming sessions. Former band members started to leave thus pushing them to seek for members to fill in the spaces.During the end of the year 2007, Ian met Joey at a college music event, thus prompting him the position as the vocalist for Unexpected Mercy. Without hesitation, Joey gladly accepted the offer and since then he is the best candidate for the position. At the beginning of 2008, they started to compose their own songs and atthe same time they were struggling and seeking for a full-time bassist in the band. Late 2008, Joshua came into the picture nicely when they met him at a show. After that, there’s no turning back and a new journey begins for Unexpected Mercy with a steady and permanent line-up.With Joey on vocals, Ian and Russel on guitars, Joshua on bass, Daniel on keyboards, and Vivian on drums, Unexpected Mercy is now poised to impact the music scene with passion and sheer determination. Unexpected Mercy's music is comprised with solid double-bass kicks, with hard-hitting snare hits; creating beats and grooves, working together with basslines that are groovy as well as solid bass fills, mixing them with both chugging guitars and also riffs combining with guitar solos, thus bringing in the atmospheric keyboards and lastly melodic vocals and not forgetting low growls and high pitch screams that are orchestrated into a concoction of brutal breakdowns, prominent symphonic keyboards with electronica samples, guitar riffs and solos, and also with a melodic feel in those songs that can inspire you.Lyrically, Unexpected Mercy writes about the normal struggles we face in our everyday lives, but yet we can find hope within their belief and their faith, to encourage and to impart a whole new level and mindset towards the world. So far, 3 songs have been recorded and released in the year 2010, following plans to release an EP in the 1st quarter of 2011, then followed by plans to also release a full

Since Rosevelt was unleashed upon the world in June 2009, we have been living out the dream in the local music scene. This dream is simple: to blaze trails of our own among the footsteps of local indie music greats. The spirit of Rosevelt is best summed up in our public debut at Indie Youth Fest 2009: indie, young, and in the serious business of having fun.Within the same year, we were honoured with a slot in Rock The World 2009 and it has been the ride of our lives ever since. Rosevelt has had the pleasure of playing live at various venues, such as The Library, Laundry Bar, and Urbanattic, as well as many events including Fly FM Campur Chart, Youth ‘10, and Urbanscapes 2010.We have also been rocking the campus circuit, such as Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Sunway University College, Monash University College, and HELP University, so much so that Rosevelt was nominated for ‘Best College Act’ at the Voize Independent Music Awards 2010.So what kind of rock music exactly do we play? Some say Hard Melodic Rock, some say Alternative Rock. We say the kind of rock that will have you headbanging till your neck hurts. Our single Madicine, which debuted in June 2010, made it to XFM and also spent 8 weeks at the top of Cravecharts.

Diriku
Dizaman persekolahan aku liar
Kini diriku sudah berikarar
Untuk mencari perkara yang bahagia
Hanya untuk masa kerjaku
Jangan dilayan perkara asing
Ingatkan dunia depan kita
Bukan ku mengatakan ia
Tapi satu kenyataan masa kelak
Sekarang mencari ilmu iklas
Hanya untuk satu prasangka
Ia hanya untuk diriku dan dia
Ikutlah kata emak dan ayah
Jangan dilayan perkara asing
Ingatkan dunia depan kita
Bukan ku mengatakan ia
Tapi satu kenyataan masa kelak
Dunia ini hanya sementara
Buatkan yang terbaik pada kita
Usah difikir picagari haram
Ia akan binasakan jiwa raga
Jangan dilayan perkara asing
Ingatkan dunia depan kita.

The much awaited album has been hailed by music critics and music fans alike as one of the best efforts in the Malaysian English music scene. The band existed in the scene when Huffyz met Didhy in the lovely City of Kuching. Both of them are true indie music lovers and lots of British Acts. They decided to form the band in the middle of 2003. Didhy was taking the guitarist and vocalist, and huffyz decided to be the drummer. But the band was not enough without bassist, wasn’t it? Didhy told Huffyz to find another line up,until Didhy started to follow his family transfer to Kuala Lumpur.Huffyz never gave up to find the bassist.Didhy and Huffyz still contacted each other eventhough Didhy was transferred to Kuala Lumpur.Huffyz called Didhy by his handphone,he told that,he already got the bassist position.huffyz said the bassist is his bestfriend and his school classmate, Alanx.Didhy knows him too,but not really close, just a little bit. When Didhy came back to Kuching, the three of them met and practised the cover songs of their favourite bands. They discussed on the very sweet Sunday night, and the name of the band was decided.'THE RUSH' was chosen to be the band name. When the band started to play their own song, the crisis of the band spoiled the band. That was a big crisis.Only the friends of The Rush know the crisis.Huffyz decided to leave the band. Then,Didhy and Alanx found Adthely who plays as the drummer now.Adthely is a very goodboy disciplined drummer.Respect on him,you can do it! Fortunately, the new 'The Rush' begins, and they participated the Battle Of The Bands. The BOTB is called ’Lord Of The Bands’, organized by Silas of Evenstarr. The Rush got through to the finals, and they won the 5th place consolation. After the battle,The Rush was interviewed by the popular music magazine in Malaysia ROTTW. Then,The Rush continued with invitation to perform in the mini gigs, charity performances, open day of colleges and festivals with other local bands in Kuching City.Lots of thanks for inviting us. The Rush released their first ever E.P , titled "The Blue Sunny Glory Starter E.P.Got 3 tracks songs inside,"Happy Deepfeelsy","POP!" and "The Braindead Starter".All songs written by Didhy & music by The Rush. Bittersweet began in mid-2004 with 2 members who had the same musical interests. Both played in an Ipoh band before, and got to know each other well during that time. Herri and Zabil occasionally met to hangout and eventually decided to try their hand at writing music together. Both heavily influenced by British music, the two decided to put their heads together and record an EP, just for fun.
After the recording was completed Herri and Zabil distributed the material for feedback, which was mainly positive. When Zabil joined the Malaysian teaching force he had to quit the band, which left Bittersweet with only one of its founding members. Determined not to abandon what they started, Herri set about forming a complete line-up, particularly considering they'd been invited by Pet Projects to perform at Couple's EP launch. He enlisted Dinie as their bassist first of all, before adding Hafiez (guitarist) to the line-up, Pijie as Bittersweet's vocalist with Emai ..boards. Bittersweet finished recording their 2nd EP (Night and Morning Tales) on November 2004. They?|ve been invited for shows at PISA Penang on January 2005. The feedback of the 2nd EP and the shows at Penang which were more massive than before. Bittersweet have been invited for plenty of shows after that in KL and Penang.
Starting 2006, Bittersweet been received a rave reviews from the crowd and people mostly in Klang Valley itself. Bittersweet finished recorded their 1st single (A Perfect Match) on June 2006. The singles feedback was heavily impressive and the track A Perfect Match has been played in many radio stations such as Fly fm, Hot fm, Hitz.fm and Mix fm. They also had been invited to play for a show at Baybeats festival 2006. By the end of 2006, Bittersweet has launched their 1st debut album, Perfect Match, on 16th December 2006 during Rock The World 7. Two months later, after the album has released, they started for a tour around the country. The tour began at 10th April which the first place that they gonna rock was KLPAC, Kuala Lumpur. Then, they went to JB(11th March), Malacca(17th March), Penang(8th April), Ipoh(14th April) and the last place was Sarawak on 28th April. The tour was good and successful.
After the Malaysian tour, Bittersweet in planning to broaden their music to the audiences around the South East Asia region. Finally Bittersweet comprises of 5 members that are Pijie(Lead Vocals), Herri(Lead Guitar / Vocals), Hafie (2nd Guitar / Vocals), Dinie(Bass), Emai(Keys / Synth) and a sessionist drummer.

In 1991, Loque and his Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) schoolmate, Kadak formed what was then known as Loque's Tail , Loque and Kadak, together with a few MCKK friends, started producing their own material, with the hopes of making a name for themselves in the Malaysian music scene. It is worth remembering that this was during the start of the grunge era which managed to reach the shores of Malaysia in substantial force.
It was while jamming in Kuala Lumpur during 1993 at Black Widow Studios that they bumped into Emmett, who was there jamming (as a guitarist) with his band at that time, Grunge Dayz . Impressed with what he saw, Loque challenged Emmett to a ‘jamming showdown', after which they mutually decided to join skills and creativity, to form their own band. After meeting up with drummer Kalai later that year, Butterfingers was officially born by the end of 1993. And with the final line up of Loque (songwriter, guitarist), Emmett (vocals, guitar, strings and lyricist), Kadak (bass) and Kalai (drums), Butterfingers hit the underground gig scene with such vengeance that had most of their shows sold out and described today as ‘the stuff of underground legends'.
"1 goat, 2 apples and 16 oranges" was a demo cassette published by butterfingers into the underground circuit. The demo introduced butterfingers' raw energy in music, heavily influenced by grunge during that time, and Emmett's vocals which is a carbon-copy of Kurt Cobain. A lot of listeners thought that the demo was an unreleased Nirvana album, until butterfingers made their first appearance at the superUnderground music gig at Picadilly on February 1995. The gig and the circulation of their now very popular demo raised butterfingers into becoming one of the most recognizable underground bands at that time, along with other bands such as OAG, The Splatters and Spiral Kinetik Circus.
After the released of "KEMBALI" album on August 2008, Butterfingers made several shows to promote their newest album. On 17 and 18 January 2009, they performed for the first and the last time for 2009 at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur that consist of 4 sessions for 2 days. Tickets to all 4 sessions were sold out before the shows and it was a huge success to the band, and a good time to say farewell to their fans as Loque will be going back to Boston. Rumours of the band resting out for a long time spread out from the fans that saying Butterfingers will be back in 2011.
